A leading Indian mobile accessories brand sought to localize its smartwatch manufacturing. The decision to produce smartwatches domestically was to contribute to the ‘Make in India’ initiative while ensuring a swift time-to-market for their products.

Challenge

The brand needed to find an end-to-end manufacturing partner and deliver the first batch of smartwatches within an ambitious timeline of 100 days. The brand required a partner with expertise in design, manufacturing, and assembly, capable of executing the entire process seamlessly within the timeframe. Zet Town, A ZETWERK company, established the first dedicated Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) facility to create a robust infrastructure encompassing design, manufacturing, and assembly while incorporating cutting-edge online testing and diagnostics.

Impact

Leveraging our expertise, we produced the initial batch of 10,000 smartwatches ahead of the 100-day deadline. The factory ensured a monthly production capacity of 100,000 units. Within a timeframe of sixty days, our team collaborated with chipset and mechanical component designers to develop ten distinct smartwatch products. Through meticulous system integration, testing flows, and a trained workforce, we delivered 500 sample watches.

Advantage

Setting up a dedicated EMS & ODM facility laid the foundation for sustained manufacturing excellence, enabling the brand to maintain a steady supply of innovative products to meet growing consumer demand. The efficient execution of this project has reinforced our reputation as a trusted partner for end-to-end manufacturing solutions in the consumer electronics industry.

Zetwerk’s proprietary manufacturing OS offers unparalleled transparency and real-time project updates, instilling customer confidence.
